The Beginning of Something Big

A new kind of community is calling. Introducing, Côta Vera in Chula Vista. It’s where open minds and open spaces set the tone for a lifestyle full of open possibilities.

With the first phase set to release the summer of 2021, the Chula Vista area will see the construction of four villages built over the course of 20 years. Côta Vera will be made up of two villages west of the 125 freeway and will be interconnected with two more villages east of the 125. The future villages east of the 125 will eventually connect to the city’s University and Innovation District, creating an epic hub for diversity and opportunity.

Soon, residents of Côta Vera will be able to enjoy a bustling master planned community featuring walkable neighborhood shops, multiple parks, and unique amenities. Combine that with the natural beauty of Otay Ranch and you’ve got one sweet setup that’ll be hard to beat. All of this is just the beginning of what’s sure to be a one-of-a-kind living experience. Côta Vera is a masterplan community, which means it will only continue to grow and get better as each phase is completed. If this is your first time exploring a masterplan community, here’s a rundown of what it all means and where you can find certain information.

What the Heck is a Masterplan Anyway?

At a high level, masterplans are made up of two key players, a developer and the builders. HomeFed Corporation is the developer behind Côta Vera. That means HomeFed designed the landplan that connects the amenities, neighborhoods, parks and other public use sites in a way that fosters community interaction, support and long-term value. So whenever you want to know anything about the community and the lifestyle here, like new amenity announcements, events and resources provided by the lifestyle program or information about Chula Vista in general, you’ll either talk to the helpful HomeFed staff at the onsite Welcome Center or visit the Côta Vera website.

The Côta Vera homebuilders currently include Shea Homes and Lennar. This is who will be building the neighborhoods and selling the homes. While your homebuying journey may start on the Côta Vera website, you will ultimately find more detailed information about the homes and homebuying process on the builder’s website or by contacting their sales agents.
